The Beginnings of a Relationship (Private: Olivestar and Hunterstrike)

Hunterstrike sighed and stood up. He padded out of the riverclan camp and walked to the Windclan Riverclan border Hoping to see Windclan's new leader out on patrol. He shot up a tree near the border to sit an dwatch for her.

"Ugh! Unbelievable! What happened back there? What did you do?"

Hunterstrike blinked. Then he shook his head and asked, "Who are you and where am i?"

"For StarClan's sake stop messing around!" she slapped him again, this time with her claws unsheathed. "It's not funny Hunterstrike! Quite messing around!" She shook him violently.

"who are you?! Get Away from me!" Hunterstrike unsheathed his claws and slashed them across her shoulder.

Fury flashed through Olivestar. Her vision blurred momentarily. When it cleared, it was edged with red. She let out a screech of anger and leaped towards Hunterstrike, landing on his back. she raked her claws across his spine, scoring deep scratches.

"Ow ow ow! Olivestar stop! Ow!" Hunterstrike hissed as he writhed in pain.

Olivestar barely heard Hunterstrike. She leaped off and crouched down, hissing. "Are you ready to explain that little 'game' of yours?" she snarled.

Hunterstrike gasped in pain, "Wh- What are you talking about?" then blood began to pour slowly out of the wounds he had when she had found him as they reopened.

Olivestar's vision cleared along with her mind. "What do you mean?" she growled. "You scratched me. You were acting as though you didn't know me!"

"i don't know what you're talking about! AH!" Hunterstrike said hissing in pain.

"Uh huh. Then I suppose you don't remember doing this to me!" She turned and showed him the deep scratches in her shoulder.

Hunter's eyes widened. "No i don't."

Olivestar's gaze softened. "Then what did happen?" she noticed his wounds and continued. "We can figure this out later. You need to get back to RiverClan and have those wounds looked at by Iceshard."

"Olive... i can't move."

"Why not?"

"I think it has something to do with those claws of yours and how you stuck them into my back and scratched my spine!"

"Well you attacked me first," Olivestar retorted. "Come on. We have to go."

"Olive i literallhy can't move and i'm losing blood! Fast!"

"Great StarClan." Olivestar muttered and ran off towards camp. "Speckleleaf!" she called as she burst into the clearing.
   "What is it?" Speckleleaf rushed out of her den.
   "A cat is hurt; they're losing a lot of blood. Come quick!"
   Speckleleaf grabbed some herbs and rushed out of the camp with Olivestar. They arrived where Hunterstrike was waiting and Speckleleaf got to work on him. "Will he be okay?" Olivestar paced, fretting,
   "He'll be fine." Speckleleaf repled. "Why are you so worried anyways?"
   Olivestar stopped pacing. "I don't want RiverClan to have anything to blame us for."
   Olivestar motioned with her tail for Speckleleaf to leave them be for a moment. "Are you okay?" Olivestar whispered. "Who did this to you?!"

"it was the old enemy of mine i warned you about. this was why i didn't wan tyou to go along." Hunterstrike sighed, "i don't know if i'll be okay. I barely survived the first time."

"But I have nine lives to spare! You've only got one." Olivestar turned towards Speckleleaf. "Go back to camp. I'll take him to Iceshard."
   Speckleleaf nodded and ran off. Olivestar turned back to Hunterstrike. "Come on," She grunted. "Let's get you back to RiverClan."

But Hunterstrike could barely stand. Whenever he tried he would clench his teeth to try not to cry out in pain. "i'm sorry olive, i just can't really go anywhere right now."

"Oh for StarClan's sake, you're the biggest cat I've seen. There's no way you can be defeated by a daft twoleg or some stupid Twolegplace cat or what ever it is that's your enemy." Olivestar let out a sigh. "But I guess I'll get Iceshard and tell her the news."

"It wasn't just one like i thought. But several."

"That's why you need to think first and act last." Olivestar headed off towards the WindClan camp. "I'll get some warriors to help you get to camp and to protect you!" she yowled over her shoulder.
   She reached camp and sent Willowfur and Harepelt to protect Hunterstrike, Harepelt in the lead. Then she raced towards the RiverClan border, crossing the river in one bound. She sprinted towards the RiverClan camp and skidded to a stop. A patrol was racing towards her. She let them come to her. "What are you doing here?" one of them snarled. "Get off our land!"
   Olivestar calmly dipped her head. "I need to speak to your medicine cat." Her eyes flashed towards the direction of the RiverClan camp. "It's urgant."
   "Why do you need to see Iceshard when you've got Speckleleaf?" another cat hissed.
   "That is info for your leader and Iceshard." Olivestar hissed back.
   "Fine we'll take you," the first cat mewed wearily. "Come on."
   "But, but, Ripplestep!" the second cat whined.
   "No 'buts', Mistpaw!" Ripplestep snapped. "Follow me." he added to Olivestar.
   Olivestar dipped her head and followed. When they arrived in the RiverClan camp, Olivestar raced towards Cherrystar. "I need to see your medicine cat." Olivestar rumbled. "Because one of your warriors was found injured on our land and he's too weak to move. That's why I'm here."
   "Hey Olivestar!" called a voice. "I was told you needed to see me!"
   Iceshard! What a relief! "Iceshard!" Olivestar turned and trotted over to Iceshard. "Hunterstrike was found this morning on our land. He can't move; he's lost too much blood! Come quick!"
   Iceshard grabbed a few supplies and hurried out of the RiverClan camp behind Olivestar. They crossed the stepping stones and raced towards the area where Hunterstrike was. A screech of surprise escaped Iceshard's mouth. "Who or what did this?" She began to work on Hunterstrike's wounds; placing poultices where Speckleleaf didn't and remove old poultices to replace them with new ones. "What or who did this?" Iceshard repeated.

"Twolegs. Illegal hunters. Also known as poachers. They see me as a rare breed and want to kill me and preserve my body as a trophy of some kind. These specific twolegs hunt and kill rare animals and preserve their bodies and put them on display." Hunterstrike explained with some slight difficulty.

Iceshard, Hareflight, Willowfur, and Olivestar were slightly confused by Hunterstrike's words but that didn't matter at the moment. "Then why did you go back?" Olivestar screeched.
   "I agree with Olivestar," Iceshard peeled off an old poultice and replaced it with a new one. "It was foolish to put yourself in danger."
